Live Review: Louie Lastic and GoldLink team up for a rework of Kelela's 'Rewind'
KELELA has now shared a remix of her song 'Rewind' that LOUIE LASTIC has taken on, which also features the vocals of D.C. rapper, GOLDLINK.
It was one of the biggest tracks of last year, and now it's been remixed by one of the 2015's best breakout acts. Hot on the heels of an official remix EP, KELELA has now shared a remix of her song 'Rewind' that LOUIE LASTIC has taken on, which also features the vocals of D.C. rapper, GOLDLINK. The results? Unsurprisingly impressive, to say the least.
Describing it best herself, Kelela told Beats 1's Annie Mac that this remix is "such a beautiful nod to the old-school remix, a true rework where you know all the parts but feel like they're being placed in a different context." Sounding exactly that, Louie Lastic has picked apart the track and built it back up again - only this time adding in some garage house and upbeat hip-hop stylings.
GoldLink also offers a guest verse, which shows off the rapper's natural - and incredible - talents as a wordsmith. Its an upbeat, positive take, so it's only fitting that GoldLink would offer even more good vibes with his verse.

GoldLink is about to touch down in Australia for Laneway festival next month, and Kelela has just left after wowing audiences at Sugar Mountain festival. Said to be finalising her forthcoming album to be released later this year, Kelela has never sounded better - let's just hope this isn't the last time these three link up!
