Live Review: Wishes 'I Want To Be Alone With You'

If first impressions are anything to go by, the same could definitely be said for debut singles - especially when they sound like this one. Enter WISHES, a brand spankin' new producer from Sydney with a brand spankin' new song.

Coming just in time for summer, his debut single is titled 'I Want To Be Alone With You', this saccharine and infectious track will get you moving in no time, and - we're predicting - hold Wishes in very good stead for the party filled months ahead.

Drawing heavily on influences like Foster The People, Passion Pit, MGMT and more, this kind of electro pop that Wishes is laying down here is the type to embed itself in your brain for weeks on end. Upbeat, fun, warm and easily accessible with a mainstream appeal, 'I Want To Be Alone With You' is catchy as hell and hugely impressive for the newcomer.

Crisp, hard hitting beats, an array of synth sounds, a hook that gets you immediately and modern production flairs that catapult the track from just another pop track to what it is - it sounds pretty clear that Wishes is going to be a name we will be hearing a lot of from here on out.

Exhilarating, explosive and borderline euphoric when it really gets going, 'I Want To Be Alone With You' has set the bar high for the Sydneysider, and something tells us it's only up from here.
