Live Review: PREP 'Sunburnt Through The Glass'

14 November 2015 | 4:00 pm | Caitlin Medcalf

I know that one thing is for sure. As long as I have this one from PREP, sunburns suddenly seem more appealing.

PREP have gone and written a song that literally is the story of my life. Out in the Hills District of Sydney, there's nothing to do really but burn to a crisp through your car window or complain about it, so this one's appropriate.

The London based four-piece have quite the impeccable repertoire when it comes to involvement within the music scene. There's a hip-hop producer, a classical composer, a house DJ and a singer-songwriter whose writing credits include that of Drake, Foxes, Eric Prydz and more.

Their new one 'Sunburnt Through The Glass' takes elements of funk, RnB, pop, dance and heaps more to combine for this megalomash of eclipsing sounds. Altogether, it's punchy, adventurous and incredibly infectious.

It could be those skilful vocals, or the chime-like harmonies, or even that glass-like hook running up and down the background of this one.

I know that one thing is for sure. As long as I have this one from PREP, sunburns suddenly seem more appealing. And to think, this is only the group's second offering.
