Live Review: Nina Las Vegas ft. Snappy Jit 'Contagious'

9 November 2015 | 11:09 am | Caitlin Medcalf

Nina Las Vegas has enlisted the help of Mad Decent's Snappy Jit for her debut, and the match is definitely an apt one.

WOW it's only a few weeks into NLV Records and we've already been given the label's third offering!

This time it's coming straight from #bossgirl NINA LAS VEGAS herself. If I'm not mistaken, this is actually one of the first solo tracks she's ever released, so this one (for me at least) has been a long time coming.

Previously, we've heard some fast paced slices of bass from Lewis Cancut and Air Max '97, and following along in a similar vein (there's a pattern emerging here), Nina's new one 'Contagious' is just as bassy and filled to the top with tech goodness.

The kick drum that pulses almost through the track's entirety gives this one a huge dose of momentum, and it's only in that almost psychedelic atmospheric break that we're without it. Combine these elements with a groundbreaking ear for sound effects and a masterly application of synths, and you've got the basis for this contagious number.

From the get go, Nina's made sure this one is a hard hitter, and it definitely feels that way.
