Live Review: Kartell ‘Gold’

12 November 2015 | 1:23 pm | Madeline Kilby

We are excited to introduce the gorgeous French underground sounds of KARTELL to your ears, with his latest track ‘Gold’.

Something about reading the phrase ‘Parisian electronic scene’ induces romantic thrills of underground clubs and obscure tunes, all things that we really want to experience when visiting the city of love. This is why we are introducing KARTELL to your ears, with his latest track ‘Gold’.

Kartell cemented his place in the French music scene very early on in his career. Becoming a spearhead for the then emerging label Roche Musique, as an artist his music is fresh, keeping up with the enquiring minds that make EDM fans. ‘Gold’ is his first free release in a little while. Of the track Kartell says he really “felt the vibes”, and you will too.

The start of the track has this background sound that is kind of like low-pitched wind chimes gently blowing in a breeze. The breeze comes from the momentum built by a synthesiser, crashing into electronic percussion. All of a sudden you are in a golden field of overgrown plants and sunshine and you have no idea what to process, although you can’t help but take it all in.

‘Gold’ is a relaxing track. You can kick back and chill to it, or get up and move in weird and wonderful ways. Keep an eye on Kartell. Not only is this guy a very talented producer, but he is also one of those generous artists who hands these types of gems out for free every so often.
