Live Review: Elizabeth Rose 'Shoulda Coulda Woulda (Stephane 1993 Remix)'

There's definitely a reason why Boysnoize Records picked up STEPHANE 1993, and it could be for any number of reasons. Maybe it's because he's an incredibly innovative producer with a keen eye for the classics, or maybe because his live sets leave the room dripping with sweat.

He's just taken on Elizabeth Rose's hit 'Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda' and he's given it a gorgeous classic house spin that I couldn't sit still to.

It's a raw slice of production that leaves absolutely no room to breathe. The percussion is ace, well filtered and keeps the steady beat with a precise eye for innovation and attentiveness to house conventions.

There's a cool siren added to the track to give this one a sense of urgency, and when he loops it and jumps around with its rhythm, it brings forth an incredible new element to this one that makes it feel original, well-tempered and again, urgent.

Stephane 1993 is no stranger to throwing down classic dancefloor hits, whether that be in a DJ set or from his home on the internet.

He'll be playing a show this weekend as part of FBi Click Goes Deeper & Darker in Sydney.
