Live Review: Deer ft. Martin King 'All Alone'

18 November 2015 | 3:00 pm | Caitlin Medcalf

Melbourne producer Deer has teamed up with Martin King for their incredible new one, 'All Alone'.

I'll tell you what, there must be something in the water here in Australia, because (I swear I'm not bias when I say this)(okay, maybe a little bit) there's a steady stream of artists emerging from the depths of their bedrooms and onto the web.

One of these artists that's making a name for himself, is DEER. The Melbourne based producer has absolutely no trouble when it comes to making forward thinking club music that commandeers your attention from the first note.

He's teamed up with Martin King for their incredible new one, 'All Alone'. Originally written about a year and a half ago, Deer sat on this one for a little while, until Martin got a hold of it and added some vocals.

Deer's definitely got a real knack for creating depth within his tracks. He plays with the highs and he plays with the lows, until it feels like you're standing in this huge church or cave and you can just hear every single sound bouncing from the walls.

The percussion is something else too. Fast paced, but not commanding, it's sensible and extremely fitting for the vibe they were going for.

I just wish this one was longer because I think I've listened to this one about six times in a row now.
