Live Review: Lxury & LA Priest ‘Show’ (Official Video)

First things first: puppies! Secondly, by this point in time, if you find yourself reading this article, thus clearly have an interest in new electronically produced music, you should be well aware of both LXURY and LA PRIEST. So you should be damn excited they have found their way together to create ‘Show’. To make this even bigger they have created a video that features lots of adorable dogs as well!

‘Show’ has this bubbly synth kind of sound as a constant throughout the track. Its kind of electro-pop, very groove worthy and almost makes you want to grab someone’s hand and skip along to it. The percussion keeps you head bopping and LA Priest’s voice sounds kind of soothing, kind of creepy. Somewhere in there some synthed up whistling takes over from the vocals to add to the creepy a little. Everything sounds a little bit out of whack, and yet it comes together to make you feel really quite perky, like a dog in a park.

And that is basically what the video is all about. LA Priest’s is clearly a dog guy, featuring a rather cute pooch in his ‘Learning To Love’ video recently. Lxury clearly doesn’t mind them either as the dogs are crawling all over the two as they lie on the ground, napping, cloud gazing, being completely ignored by the dogs. It is like they are watching a show they could not care less about. Its kind of trippy as the screen swirls round to change the orientation of the pair. Lxury’s piercing baby blues flash open and he begins to whistle.

There is an other-worldly, galactic kind of element to both the tune and the clip with the boys playing an invisible presence while the dogs sniff them out. There is also something kind of dreamy/trippy Willy Wonka-esque about it all. Lxury and LA Priest should definitely play together more often if this is the result.
