Cosmic alliances gather, we've found one for the ages. MOON BOOTS, or the alias of Pete Dougherty from the US, has simultaneously managed to create a track that feels out of this world, but is so well grounded.

With its roots in disco and it's head in the clouds, I'd call 'Red Sky' futuristic more than anything. Embedded in the driving bassline that acts as the tracks life force, there's a stunning almost 8-bit pulse running throughout. Acting like a heartbeat, the lifeblood of this one runs purely on continuity and shiny sounds.

Clocking in at just over 6 minutes, this masterpiece feels more like a soundtrack than just one single. Beginning with a gorgeous space-like feel, it makes the air feel thin and the room rather empty. Midway through, we're given this incredible beat over a looped vocal sample.

Moon Boots really is a master of his craft, with an attentive eye for not only detail, but spacial awareness. It starts out small, but it's the journey that matters.
