Live Review: Alxndr London 'Jupiter and Pluto'

2 October 2015 | 9:31 am | Emma Jones

British singer/producer Alxndr London has released one of his best tracks to date in the form of 'Jupiter and Pluto', a soulful track with garage roots.

Although he never shows his face, it's safe to say more and more people know just who ALXNDR LONDON  is and what he's all about, and now with the release of 'Jupiter and Pluto', there's really no going back for him. The dreamy and delicate track ends the British producer's significant silence in a blaze of glory, and boy are we glad. His dulcet voice has never sounded so serene, his production never so refined and his tracks in general never quite as sweet as this.

Chill but powerful; blissful but loud; Alxndr London has really outdone himself with 'Jupiter and Pluto'. The juxtaposition of sounded quite grounded and still whilst singing of intergalactic themes is evident, as is the differences between his soft whisper and a searing guitar solo. Spanning soul, R&B, groove, garage and funk, Alxndr London floats along in this track with ease - perhaps sounding that his brief break wasn't as much a holiday as it was working hard on new material.

Somehow breathing emotion and feeling into a song steeped in UK garage roots, the rising British star has crammed a lot of stuff into just three and a half minutes, but in doing so has created one of his best yet. The glitchy, unpredictable beats skitter whilst warm synth chords swell and his own voice is harmonised with itself, only to all be upstaged by the guitar at the end: 'Jupiter and Pluto' is a huge step up for Alxndr London.

There is no word yet of anything else on the horizon for the British producer, but if this is anything to go by, he's cooking up something really good. Never one to repeat himself, Alxndr London is nothing if not unpredictable, and we can't wait to see what happens next.
