Live Review: SOUNDCLOUD WRAP: Eves The Behavior

7 August 2015 | 10:46 am | Staff Writer

Seems like as good a time as ever to chat to Hannah about what has influenced her progression as Eves The Behavior.

Haven't heard from EVES THE BEHAVIOR in a while? Don't worry, she's not avoiding you. She's just been spending a lot of time in the US and the UK.

She's not on holiday either. Hannah Karydas has been working with songwriters such as Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint) (who also delivered a big remix of her single 'TV'), Samuel Dixon (Sia, Adele) and Chris Walla (Deathcab For Cutie). PLUS she also just inked a recording deal for Eves The Behavior with UK label, Island Records.

This all comes off the back of her stellar debut Self-Titled EP, which was filled with "hard hitting drums and twinkling keys, as well as the heavy synth chords like a wall of sound swelling below the high reaching singing [that] make for a heartfelt and intimate experience."

Seems like as good a time as ever to chat to Hannah about what has influenced her progression as Eves. Listen to her mixtape and read why she chose everyone from Tink to The Middle East for our SoundCloud Wrap.

Tink 'Tell The Children'

Tink has to be in my top 5 new favourite things. She raps without mercy. So commanding. An honesty hard to come by… Also listen to her song 'Ratchet Commandments'.

Aurora 'Runaway'

This girl from Norway is also my favourite five new things. She has the sweetest temperament. And a hypnotising dancer.

Kate Tempest 'The Beigeness'

Perhaps the best lyricist I’ve heard in the last year. And the textures in this song are just so… visual. I can almost touch them. I love it.

The Weeknd 'Can't Feel My Face'

I’m not well versed in any other of The Weeknd's songs, but I can’t stop listening to this.

Warpaint 'Baby'

I fell in love with this song on a long haul flight. I probably played it 15 times in a row. I like that I can hear the guitar squeak, and the fingers on the strings.

Mansionair 'Hold Me Down'

Simply a great song and vocal.

The Middle East 'Blood'

One of my favourite songs of all time. It has come in and out of my playlists for about three years now.

Sharon Van Etten 'Love More'

This lady lets her voice wander over notes like water over river rocks. So beautiful. I also insist you listen to 'Give Out'.

Vigilantes 'Elasticity'

My drummer is part of this duo form Sydney. I love their style.

Casually Here 'Burst'

Another random stumble. The drums on this song were recorded when the producer hung phone out his bathroom window listening to the kids at the school next door playing in a drum circle. Crazy! Amazing!
