EMC Announce First Round of Speakers for 2015

If there’s one thing that we’re more than confident in, it’s that Australia is absolutely killing it when it comes to electronic music. We here at Purple Sneakers love the best up and coming club music (which you probably know), so it’s only organic to say that we’re super stoked at the lineup for this year’s Electronic Music Conference (or EMC as you may know it).

There’s some wicked talent ranging from artists, to agents, even to Beatport officials, and as usual, EMC are stepping things up. Our bossman Martin Novosel’s speaking at the conference too, so we’re feeling really warm and fuzzy about this one.

I took you through the BTV lineup last week, so I thought it’d be fitting to start this week off with a bang too.

Jessica Krishnaswamy

Being ½ of the husband and wife dynamic that created BBE, Jessica’s been behind bringing you some of the biggest electronic music tours of the last few years. Think Flosstradamus, RL Grime, Hoodboi + heaps more.

Gilles Peterson

DJ/Broadcaster/Label Boss, BBC Radio 6/Brownswood Recordings

Hosts the Saturday arvo slot on BBC 6Music, is an international club DJ, curator, incredible creative and music producer. One of the biggest and most influential names in the game, he’s been actively around since the 80’s and still continues to be active all around the globe.

Erin Flanagan

Director/Partnerships Manager, Boiler Room Australia/Thinking Loud

Current director of Boiler Room Australia, Erin is responsible for producing all of the sick Boiler Room sets we’re lucky to be given. She’s also responsible for these experiences that allow Australian artists to be given such prominent international exposure.

He’s probably one of Australia’s most in-demand beatmakers, and there’s absolutely no question as to why. His sound is one and his own, taking cuts from all genres of dance and fusing them to create something so distinctive and beautiful.

Liz Miller

VP of Artist Relations, Beatport

One of the founding employees of Beatport, Liz moved on to spending 4 years being the GM for Big Beat Records, and has since moved back to Beatport. She currently aids in the development of electronic music artists using Beatport.
