THE HARPOONS are quickly becoming one of THE acts to watch to come out of our fair Melbourne, and for good reason. Their unique and eclectic blend of R&B, pop and electronica is not one often heard, and their latest single 'Ready For Your Love' once again proves this.

Inspired by our native bush, The Harpoons combine wild rhythms, unconventional sounds and lead singer Bec Rigby's tremendous vocals for 'Ready For Your Love'. It's a liberating and uninhibited tune where they shed their skin to open up for the love that is bound to come their way after people hear this.

'Ready For Your Love' is almost like a tribal gospel choir in the way it reaches euphoric heights and gets you going from the inside out. It stirs something up deep down as the backing vocals work to give Rigby's soaring voice more depth, above the cacophony of bass and beats. The extra flourishes added here and there - such as the marimbas - give the track it's rich texture, showing that it's perhaps not as simple a song as you might have thought.

Playing at Paradise Music Festival later this year, The Harpoons released their debut album last year, and have been kicking goals ever since. By the sounds of this song, it's more than likely that they will continue to do so. If there is one new band you listen to this week, make it The Harpoons.
