MAZDE, the brainchild of 21-year old Berlin-based producer Matthis Dierkes, returns from his debut EP ‘Shifted Thoughts’ with his new single, ‘Pitch Black’.

It’s got a familiar European sound what with the piano minor chords, industrial-inspired vocal reverbs and echo-ey drums.

Mazde has been busy remixing other works recently, but here we see his more thoughtful and collaborative side as he teams up with fellow Deutschlander, LissA. Her airy vocals hang sweet and sultry over the haunting piano chords, and work together to make for Mazde’s most dynamic track yet. It's light and finger-clicking with an undertone of edge.

The ‘Mazde x LissA’ EP is set for release later this month on the 28th, via Aussie-based dance music label, Stoney Roads Records. Mazde's rework of Disclosure’s ‘Help Me Lose My Mind’ topped the Hype Machine chart and helped him notch up over 30 million online plays. He made his Australian debut earlier this year, performing alongside Touch Sensitive, Yolanda Be Cool and Aeroplane on a national tour – we hope ‘Pitch Black’ is another success for the producer, so he can make a return to our sunny climes.
