Live Review: LA Priest 'Learning To Love' (Official Video)

8 July 2015 | 12:19 pm | Hannah Galvin

LA Priest has teamed up with his brother, Isaac Eastgate, to create the accompanying visual to his single, 'Learning To Love'.

Former Late Of The Pier frontman, Samuel Eastgate (aka Sam Dust) has finally dropped his debut solo record, Inji, under new moniker, LA PRIEST. A stunning 10-track journey, he's enhanced the audience's experience of his single, 'Learning To Love' with a satirical video, directed by his brother, Isaac Eastgate.

Framed by the dawn of a new day, LA Priest and his fluffy white companion seek out the mission to find the meaning of love; through the application of Hollywood appropriation, of course.

As hard as he poses during his crispy white, "high-end", materialistic photo shoots, we're taught that shitty cliches don't actually sell in the land of love and attraction. Further exemplifying this by fleeing swiftly through grassy meadows, knocking things over as his awkwardly twisted hands attempt to sexily turn on bath taps, and rocking out as he programs a set of analogue synths, LA Priest truly is trying his best to maintain this synthetic sex god persona.

He clearly fails though, which is emphasised by the presence of his pup sidekick, who doesn't seem to particularly understand his assisting role of portraying LA Priest as heroic as his appearance and actions persist.
