Live Review: Sable 'One And Only'

16 July 2015 | 11:47 am | Emma Jones

Perth producer Sable returns after a brief hiatus with 'One and Only', a sugary sweet electro pop track that shows huge potential for him.

Perth producer and Pilerats Records signee SABLE has kept very quiet lately, and now we know the reason why. He's just dropped his new, previously-teased track 'One And Only', which sees a huge step up from the producer and one that is looking very promising for him.

Featuring, for the first time, his own vocals (albeit distorted into chipmunk proportions), 'One And Only' is bubblegum electro pop at it's finest. With bouncing bass and beats that are reminiscent of the Jersey bounce scene, but juxtaposed against twinkling keys and saccharine vocals, not unlike the sounds of QTSable has definitely been taking notice of what's happening in the world of electronic music, and picked out the bits he liked most to create something of his own.

The breakdown at 1:43 is where things get really interesting though, as Sable flexes his production muscle and shows off what he was up to on that brief hiatus. Perhaps one of the most club-oriented love songs in recent memory, 'One And Only' is a whole lot of fun and a perfect way to mark Sable's return.

Sable will be performing at Splendour In The Grass later this month, and we can hazard a guess the rest of the year will be very busy indeed for him. Showing that he isn't just another producer in this golden era of Australian dance music, Sable has left no question of who he is and what he is capable of.
