Live Review: Frances ‘When It Comes To Us’ Ft. Ritual

After releasing 'Grow' earlier this year, British songbird FRANCES has dropped the second track from her debut EP, 'When It Comes To Us'. Featuring fellow Brit's, RITUAL, this track is once again pulling on the heartstrings.

'When It Comes To Us' tells a story about the differences in people that lead to attraction and understanding. The lyrics talk about how those differences should never work out and yet somehow do. The story told within the lyrics tells a similar story to the more technical side of the track.

Frances has blurred the lines of many genres, taking in an electronic element with production talent of Ritual, but there are also elements of pop within the composition and melody.

Ritual lends the male vocals to 'When It Comes To Us', often harmonised with Frances’ raw and yet mesmerising voice. Coupled with constant percussion and low piano chords the track has elements of pain, nostalgia and love riddled throughout.

The second release from Frances’ Grow EP, 'When It Comes To Us' paints a very different musical picture to her first track, 'Grow'. Perhaps it is Ritual’s mysterious electronic influence, or just proof that true musical talent will always defy barriers to give something unique each and every time.
