Back in Jan an unknown Nick Klein posted, ‘Paralyzed’. Fast-forward a few months and now, known simply as KLYNE, they have now officially released it.

Back in January an unknown Nick Klein posted a magical track,‘Paralyzed’, on Soundcloud - at the time it went rather unnoticed. However fast-forward a few months and now, known simply as KLYNE, ‘Paralyzed’ has officially been released.

It turns out that Klyne is actually a now a duo consisting of former namesake, Nick Klein on vocals and Ferdous Dehzad creating the electronic sounds to compliment. Based in a small village in the Netherlands, a land known for producing music geniuses, ‘Paralyzed’ offers listeners something truly hypnotic. At moments you feel as though you are standing still, paralysed, and then you begin to be able to move again, as though nothing happened.

The video for ‘Paralysed’ brings this feeling to life. Switching between both warm and cool tones, the backdrop the clip was filmed in an old church in Brooklyn. It features some extremely talented and mesmerising dancers, whose movements reflect Klein’s vocals to a tee. The dancers are seen more or less in silhouette form only and very occasionally you are reminded that maybe you are in a computer generated dream world as one dancer flickers in and out as if only a hologram.

Growing up in a small village, the duo escaped the monotonous humdrum and isolation this environment presents by learning their craft on the Internet, which is reflected by this aspect of the clip.

Dehzad’s sound is something unique. With unexpected pauses followed by the tune vaulting forwards, the sound is both electronic and almost folky, with sounds that have faint tones of what could be described as an electronic piano accordion. It’s distinctive, and when combined with Klein’s soulful vocals ‘Paralyzed’ is one track to get around.

You can grab ‘Paralyzed’ on iTunes now.
