TOUR DIARY: Jai Wolf at Bonnaroo 2015
Freshly inked to ODESZA‘s Foreign Family Collective, JAI WOLF is a name rapidly on the rise. The 23 year old producer from New York City, made his debut to the family with the enormous track ‘Indian Summer’ – and he’s been heralded as the next big name in electronica.
And it’s clear that it’s not just blogs that are getting interested in this guy, as festivals and promoters are already getting behind him in a big way. Hell, Bonnaroo added him to their bill way before ‘Indian Summer’ was released.
Yes, Jai Wolf was a part of the huge festivities from last weekends Bonnaroo festival. He was thrown a pivotal 3 am slot and by all accounts (we weren’t there obviously) he freakin’ nailed his set. For such a young artist, being on the bill must have been a giant experience – so we asked him for a blow-by-blow account of the weekend.
He obliged, and we can now present to you Jai Wolf‘s Bonnaroo 2015 Tour Diary!
This was such a surreal moment. I honestly thought 100 ppl would show up at 3 AM and it was insane to see over 10,000 ppl who wanted to party.
“Odesza are two of the most down to earth ppl I know in this scene and I’m so glad they’ve given me a platform to release my music. Was so fun hanging w/ them this weekend!”
“Literally had 20 of these Yellow Red Bulls this weekend haha”
“I’m such a huge Childish Gambino fan and I haven’t seen him perform in 3 years. I was most excited to see him and he did not disappoint! His stage presence is so captivating and knows how to really get the crowd hyped.”
“Let’s Get Weird” Car
“This was the motto of the weekend.”
“So, funny story. Kevin Garrett is actually a childhood friend of mine who I met at violin school. I haven’t seen him in over 10 years and it’s so funny how we’re both playing Bonnaroo. The dude is gonna blow up in the next year just watch (he already has co-signs from Katy Perry and Sam Smith).”
The Roo Crew
“This was the Roo Crew! Had a blast hanging w/ my team this weekend who I’m proud to call my brothers.”
