Live Review: Noire ‘Just Like Honey’

16 June 2015 | 3:26 pm | Caitlin Medcalf

‘Just Like Honey’ is Noire's latest single, and it emanates some incredibly hypnotic sound waves.

Bringing some gorgeous and nostalgic vibes to the table (think THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN), Sydney’s NOIRE are doing dream pop their way.

‘Just Like Honey’ is the band’s latest single, and it emanates some incredibly hypnotic sound waves.

I can’t tell if it’s predominantly centred within the sublime sounds of their talented and very passionate lead singer, or in that hauntingly higher pitched guitar line that trickles in and out of the tracks inner consciousness.

If you’re looking for a sound to parallel this too, think SNAKADAKTAL, they definitely come to mind when thinking of these incredibly well structured instrumentals.

However, it may be the layers in their entirety that really work together to give off this vibe, it’s so hard to tell.

Everything in this track has been so well planned out. It flourishes at just the right moments, and knows when to turn it down too, which is why this feels so well controlled.

NOIRE are already captivating audiences around Sydney with their dreamy sound, and it’s definitely refreshing to hear a sound that’s so refined.
