11 June 2015 | 11:43 am | Emma Jones

We asked the co-founder of the WEDIDIT Collective, Nick Melons, to give us a bit of a run through of his hometown, Los Angeles.

Co-founder of the WEDIDIT collectiveNick Melons will be in the country next month, touring with his boys ShlohmoD33J and Purple. He's been DJing for years, and comes with not only Shlohmo's seal of approval, but RL Grime's and the entire WEDIDIT crew's too.

Bringing a different flavour to the LA scene and beyond, Nick Melons has become a figurehead of sorts for the new LA sound, performing across the globe with his buddies and bringing his eclectic and formidable sets wherever he goes. We got to chat with him ahead of his imminent arrival, to ask him a little bit about his hometown - Los Angeles. From where to get the best sandwich, the best chicken tenders, or where he used to kick it back in the day, take a look inside Nick Melons' life.

Bay Cities Italian Deli & Bakery

Large Godmother w/ the works +spicy peppers. Hands down best Italian sandwich spot in Los Angeles, this the type of sandwich that make you do a handsfree backflip. You meet a girl and she's like lets go on a date so you cruise to bay cities, flex out on a couple sandwiches, hit the beach and two months later ya'll get married and Bay Cities caters the wedding.

Reddi Chick

Chicken Tender Basket & Fries. I really consider myself a connoisseur when it comes to tenders. I prefer a hotel or sports area style tenders, but Reddi Chick in a lane of its own. I also don't really play with BBQ sauce on my tenders but I make an exception when I come here.

Family Arcade

I'm a fool for pinball and they got all the classic joints here: Addam's Family, Simpsons, Playboy etc. They also go that "Top Skater" game that used to bang back in the day but that shit's broken as hell so don't try and play it there. Can't drink here either, I keep trying but nah it ain't working.

Murphy's Ranch

This spot's been blown for a while now, but when we were kids we would hang here and burn and paint etc. It was built in the 1930's by some weirdo kook nazi's who hoped they could start a movement in the US. Joke's on those idiots cause now its a place for kids to drink and party.

Slauson Super Mall

Came here for the first time 6 years ago and make trips their monthly now. They got everything you need here: clothes, jewelry, rims, tattoos. We always hit up the mans in the back for custom embroidery shit, he's got crazy templates on his design program and he run that shit off a Windows 95.  I got my ex ex girlfriend a airbrushed portrait of her dog for her birthday one year here and she hated it.
