Live Review: Motez 'One 2'

30 May 2015 | 10:00 am | Emma Jones

Becoming one of Australia's best exports, Motez has dropped the second track off his upcoming EP Vancouver. Titled 'One 2' it's big room house at it's best.

It's no secret that MOTEZ is becoming one of Australia's hottest exports, with his big room house sounds quickly getting him fans all over the world - and with the release of his latest track 'One 2' today, he can only expect even more.

With deep, dubby bass and crisp beats, 'One 2' is the second track to be released off Motez's forthcoming EP, Vancouver, and shows a different side to the producer that we haven't heard much of until now. Reminiscent of his live shows (if you haven't seen him in action, you are severely missing out), the track is bigger, bassier and more badass than he has ever sounded before.

Starting off with some swelling synth notes and what sounds like castanets, it isn't long before the track quickly picks up speed. As the synths begin to soar and delicate keys come into play, the bass begins to kick in before the track really breaks it down. As the beat drops and the wubby bass enters the fray, you can hear Motez's slightly new direction.

The track ebbs and flows between the deep bass breakdowns and the soaring synths, creating a dynamic soundscape that is as impressive as it is fun to listen to, complete with hand claps and that classic "one for the treble and two for bass" vocal sample.

'One 2' adds to the exciting picture that is Motez's Vancouver EP - a release we are incredibly excited about via Sweat It Out! Music. As long time fans of him, it's exciting to see him not only progressing and developing, but reaping the much deserved rewards along the way.
