Live Review: Lonelyspeck ‘Wring’

29 May 2015 | 10:08 am | Caitlin Medcalf

As featured on TEEF Recording's upcoming compilation LP 'Imperium In Imperio', Adelaide's Lonelyspeck has contributed the gorgeous 'Wring'.

Boasting a small family lineup with some really cool up and coming artists (namely Spirit Faces and Anatole), the legends over at TEEF Recordings are really big on keeping their mates involved.

They’re set to release a compilation titled, Imperium In Imperio, and will feature some incredible unreleased tracks from some really cool Australian artists like Leaks, Planete, Electric Sea Spider and more.

They’ve said that these artists are all bound by certain electronic elements within their music, however it is more so the connection they all have in that they are forward thinking and in some respects, incredibly ahead of their peers.

LONELYSPECK is one of these artists featuring on the compilation, a producer out of Adelaide.

He’s written a spacey, cosmic silencer that sounds like it’s been ripped straight from the soundtrack to your first space voyage. It’s ambient, yet completely rhythmic. The beauty is in its minimalism. The sounds are hard to pinpoint as they mostly rely on filling the void, but I think this is where the beauty of Lonelyspeck’s sound lies.

If this is any indication of the direction TEEF’s compilation is heading, this is definitely going to be one of this year’s biggest.

Imperium In Imperio will be out June 1 via TEEF Recordings.
