Chet Faker is an artist who no longer needs an introduction. Storming the international scene with his breakthrough album, Built On Glass, his songs were absolutely everywhere last year, and still very much so today.

One of the most loved tracks of that album was '1998' - a chilled out, upbeat track with fun electronica playing under Chet's one-of-a-kind voice. You would have heard it at least a billion times over the last 12 months, but I can bet you've not heard it like this before.

Enter AMATEUR DANCEOctober Records alum and one of our Artists to Watch for this year. He has stepped up to fill some very big shoes by jumping on remix duties for '1998', and the results are very impressive to say the least.

Turning it into a side-stepping dancefloor filler, the hard hitting beats and hand claps that start Amateur Dance's remix take Chet away from the chilled out, sunny afternoon he belongs in, and puts him in the middle of a dark, dingy club where Amateur Dance belongs.

Gradually gaining momentum, more and more is added to the house styled rework, as Chet's vocals are looped into an almost mantra, with some eerie flairs added in for good measure. The sprawling mix really begins to take hold at around 3.45, as lasers and synth chords start firing and racing.

Amateur Dance has breathed a breath of fresh air into '1998', giving it enough life to make it easily fit in at a rave. It's releases like this that make this fresh faced Melbournite one to look out for, and we can't wait to hear what he makes next!
