Live Review: ALTA 'Moves'

25 May 2015 | 2:21 pm | Hannah Galvin

Melbourne duo, ALTA, have revealed the first taste of the forthcoming EP with, 'Moves'.

Hannah Lesser and Julius Dowson make up Melbourne duo, ALTA. Ahead of releasing their brand new EP, the pair have dropped, 'Moves' - a single you won't be forgetting anytime soon.

After waving a light saber in our faces, we soon learn that 'Moves' is a pocket of the unexpected, constantly pulling out a shitload of wacky beats and obscure sampling. There's elephants, cars and swooping interrupting the electronic instrumentation, and has been pronounced in a rather sly and mischievous arrangement.

The sass doesn't quite stop there though, for the sonic execution is symbolic of the lyricism. A little risque in its quirk, 'Moves' encourages the initiation of intimacy. You've got to be quick about it though, for ALTA's patience levels are becoming slim to none.
