Tei Shi ‘Go Slow’

Fresh off killing it at SXSW, TEI SHI has dropped another track off her forthcoming EP Verde. This time, she’s offering up ‘Go Slow’ – a track that once again shows off her tremendous vocal range against shuffling beat patterns and a much softer chorus than her previous releases.

Airy synths are propped against big bass, with Tei Shi channeling new kinds of vocals with her breezy, youthful crooning. A complete step away from first single Bassically, and almost a return to her last EP Saudade, ‘Go Slow’ is perhaps the break in dramatics and powerful vocals that Verde might need. Delicate and light, real name Valerie Teicher picks up from where she left off with ‘See Me’, keeping things feathery light and gentle.

Expertly combining experimental beats with her pop styled vocals, ‘Go Slow’ is one of the most adventurous tracks from the New York singer, as it adds to the hype of her April release date for Verde. Layer upon layer is added to the track as she breathes and sighs above the bubbling synths and crisp beats. Adding just enough reverb to her vocals to give it an ethereal feel, her rapidly developing creativity is more evident here than ever.

Teicher has a pretty packed year already. After wrapping up her highly acclaimed performances on the Texan stages last week at SXSW, she is now set to tour with Lapsley and Shy Girls, before heading to the UK/Europe for a tour with JUNGLE as well as a few festivals (see dates below). It can only be a matter of time before she treats Australian audiences to her live show, but for now we’ll just have to wait until April 14th for Verde to finally be released!

Verde EP is out in Australia on April 17 via Caroline AustraliaPre-orders are already available.
