In preparation for the release of his upcoming debut EP, the hyper colourful and highly promising Hoodboi has collab-ed with remix lord Lido on his title track ‘Palm Reader’.

Los Angeles club-cruncher Hoodboi (formally known as DJ Hoodboi) is renowned for giving us jersey shuffle reworks and RnB bootlegs that are crazy-sexy and nothing short of baby-making music, but after being snapped up by Fool's Gold Records mid last year, he has looked to something a little more grandiose. Teaming up with Norwegian partner-in-crime Lido <3, he experiments with a track that distances from the high intensity tempos and jersey club bounces we are so used to.

Instead, towards something a little more sophisticated, a track with smooth synth work, heavy drum hits and an all-consuming emotional under-current. Of course, we haven't lost those swirly Jersey, high pitched vocals and physical tweaks and squeaks that jack your body from left to right.

But there’s something about this producers approach to his own dance music, that is cleaner and fresher and has a unique focus on experimentation. After working together on this track for over a year, it's apparent that the pair have heavily influenced each other (Lidos name is repping all over that chord progression). And with a melody that glows, a hook that grips you and a beat that bounces off your spine, this full, high energy banger represents Hoodboi as an innovative producer taking himself seriously amongst the futuristic bass world.
