Goldielocks ‘Moonbeams’ (Atticus Beats Remix)
It was Moonbeams that saw GOLDIELOCKS‘ appear on the national radar, with it’s slow moving, thumping bass and drawn out samples and synths.
It’s been 8 months since it’s release, so it’s no wonder that the Sydneysider saw it fit to breathe new life into the track by recruiting a few other prominent up-and-comers for their own takes on it. PATH, Jon Santana, CreamCrops, Jives’ and Mondecreen have also stepped up to the plate, but it’s Atticus Beats‘ take that caught our attention.
What was once a downtempo slow burner has been turned into a jumpy, upbeat and vibrant new track, packed with fresh percussion and an array of new samples. The signature Beats‘ sound is there, but it’s evolved and grown from his previous tracks. Making Moonbeams completely his own, Beats has shown there is even more to him than he first let on, and has us eager to see where he’s going to go next.
2014 was a massive year for Atticus Beats: performing in the opening slot of the Townsville Groovin’ The Moo, dropping his monster of a track, receiving over 55, 000 plays, Decisions ft. Woodes (which GOLDIELOCKS actually remixed as well), a brilliant ODESZA remix and becoming a finalist in the Budweiser Made For Music competition. He also played a string of live shows, and by the sounds of this latest release, has spent a lot of time working and honing his sound.
There is no word on any more future releases from the Gold Coast beatmaker, but you can keep up to date over at his Soundcloud. All Moonbeams remixes are available for free download now!
