Live Review: PREMIERE: CVIRO & GXNXVS 'Benjamins' (Indian Summer Remix)

Late-ish last year local gems, CVIRO and GXNXVS teamed up for the slow burning jam 'Benjamins'. It felt like it was the kind of release that needed a remix package, and finally we have the first taste of it.

Melbourne's slickest electronic duo, INDIAN SUMMER have had a go at 'Benjamins', and it's the result is a instant club classic. The changes the guys make aren't massive, but simple is often the best option in situations like this. The synth line is pitched up a couple of notches, and the vocals are pushed deeper into the mix, and an off-kilter clicking beat is felt throughout.

That's before things take a harder turn. The vocals are chopped completely, and thrown in between harsher pulses of synth and industrial samples. The slow burning essence of the track remains, as the soulful vocals are still integral, but everything has become more danceable courtesy of this lovely remix.
