Purple Sneakers and Smirnoff give you a round up of the top five acts at this year's Future Music Festival!

Future Music Festival came to a close last weekend, having hit Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne for the tenth year running. Purple Sneakers were there to partake in the fun along with our party starting friends at Smirnoff.

Featuring a slew of high flying major headliners, Future Music Festival is also well regarded for its forward thinking curation. As you know, at Purple Sneakers we’re all about bringing you the best new music so we’ve teamed up with Smirnoff, who share in our love of finding the most exciting artists for you, to come up with our five faves from the festival.

TCHAMI

Having burst onto the scene last year with his bouncing house remix of JANET JACKSON's Go Deep, Parisian beat-maker TCHAMI lit up the Futuredome stage with his contagious good vibes and pounding tracks.

Set highlights included his ALUNAGEORGE remix for You Know You Like It which has gathered nearly six million plays, as well as his standout original two-track EP Promesses featuring KALEEM TAYLOR on the title track. His 2014 Australian shows sold out within days, which is testament to this guy’s success.

GREEN VELVET

Inspired by artists like KRAFTWERK, Chicago producer GREEN VELVET made a name for himself with his deep tech house beats. Real name Curtis Alan Jones, GREEN VELVET is actually one of many monikers Jones works under - but undoubtedly his best.

He recently launched a new project with CLAUDE VON STROKE, and is currently working with CARL COX so he came to Future with strong credentials – and did not disappoint.

SETH TROXLER

Touring circuit favorite, SETH TROXLER's name speaks for itself. Constantly being touted as one of the DJ's of the Year since 2012, Troxler brought his minimal and deep house stylings to Future fans.

His appearance in the country came off the back of a recent techno collaboration with PHIL MOFFA, and was the first time Aussie audiences caught these tracks live in action!

GORGON CITY

After releasing one of the biggest tracks of 2013, Gorgon City have played everywhere from GLASTONBURY to COACHELLA, and brought their thumping house singles down under last weekend.

Taking old school house and mixing it with modern production, GORGON CITY have developed one of the most refreshing sounds in the game. Their top 10 hit Here For You was a set highlight for the duo.

ART DEPARTMENT

Canadian duo ART DEPARTMENT are one half techno/house wizard Kenny Glasgow and one half label owner of No. 19, Jonny White. Together they continue to smash boundaries and defy genre limitations, blending everything into one melting pot of electronica.

They performed in a DJ/live vocal capacity, which offered a welcome change of atmosphere on the day, with deep house never sounding as good when paired with Glasgow's voice.
