Berlin based recording artist Rone is also a French film graduate, which perhaps informs the mesmerising animated illustrations that accompany his new release ‘Sing Song’.

Based on the Liliwood illustrations that adorn the album cover, the images have been animated by Paulynka Hricovini into a beautiful space adventure to compliment the sonic symphony.

‘Sing Song’ is taken from Rone’s fourth studio album, Creatures. You can hear this experience in the track’s confident and assured sound and see it reflected in the creative and thoughtful video clip. We watch an animated version of Rone, awoken from his stargazing and flung into the nether regions of space on a fast-paced kaleidoscopic journey, zipping past multi-coloured solar systems and diving through the rings of patterned planets. The thrashing synthy guitars and crashing cymbals create a cacophony of noise that juxtaposes nicely with the quirky and cute animation. The overall effect is chaotic, mesmerising and uplifting.

The album showcases a diverse range of contributors including Bryce Dessner of The National, Japanese avant-garde trumpeter Toshinori Kondo and French singer/songwriter Etienne Daho. Creatures hit shelves on February 9th via InFine and is available on vinyl and digital formats.
