Live Review: Dorsal Fins 'Mind Renovation' (Official Video)
Melbourne's Dorsal Fins have released the glitched-out, psychedelic clip to their forthcoming record's title track, 'Mind Renovation'.
Mammoth Melbourne ten-piece, DORSAL FINS, have a knack of heightening the impact of their tunes through their crazy, psych-induced film clips. They've added to this through the release of the video to their single, 'Mind Renovation'.
We've seen a rise in technological art-forms as of late. Windows 98 paraphernalia, bright, reoccurring silhouettes contaminating otherwise very normal photographed portraits, appropriating software with celebrity images from the 90s... The list is endless.
One particularly popular method that springs to mind within this trendy context is glitches. A complete asshole of a bug when it occurs firsthand, the frustrating mishap has found itself leading a cult army of graphic artists. So in saying that, Dorsal Fins' clip to, 'Mind Renovation' is essentially the glitch-fanatic's wet dream.
To accompany the scuzzy guitars, scratchy mixing and reverberating vocals that itch at the track's backdrop, 'Mind Renovation' quadripples its artistic heap with this psychotic episode of perculiarly placed objects in boundless labyrinths, pixelated avenues and brightly coloured portals; swarming a space reminiscent of the 90s through this glitched out, two dimensional field.

Absolutely mind boggling, it credits the tune in that there is just so much energy, it'll keep you attentive all the way through until the end of the song.
'Mind Renovation' is the title track off Dorsal Fins' forthcoming record, to be released on Friday, 13th February through Gripless/Remote Control Records. You can pre-order the album both digitally and on limited edition vinyl HERE.
