DJEMBA DJEMBA has posted a torrent of new tracks on his Soundcloud, grouped together under the tongue in cheek title ‘If You're Listening To This It's Left Over Beats’ - Drake listen up.

Amongst the 13 cuts, the Mad Decent prodigy producer looks to South American sounds as the inspiration for boisterous number ‘Brazilian Ting’.

The samba style drumbeat is mixed into a grimy synth hook that echoes the sounds of Hudson Mohawke. There’s horns, percussion, thumping beats and a welcome soul clap or two. Familiar yet futuristic, it’s world music inspired by UK bass, coming from a man who was born in Iowa and started meditating at the age of 12.

The track shows Djemba Djemba’s deft hand at layering 808 style kickbeats and snares. He says that most of his music is ‘to be played in traffic to get your aggression out’; this is less of an road rage vibe and more of a feel good beach bounce that would go down nicely with a couple of caipirinhas.
