Live Review: Tiger & Woods 'Don't Try To Stop Me'

Breaking onto the music scene in a flurry of synth-induced 70/80’s boogie, the surreptitiously named TIGER & WOODS are a German duo known for their love of secrecy and anonymity with their identification.

Though they are often seen with faces covered in photos, it hardly matters when their modern-infused disco tracks begin to play. ‘Don’t Try to Stop Me’ released off their Scoring Clubs EP late December/ early January, is a slow yet lively club-disco collection of complex synth and beat, the lyrics ‘Don’t try to stop me’ it’s main muse.

Bringing back the late 80’s disco-boogie flare while also entwining a futuristic-post age production, the track creates a heated-dance atmosphere that the duo self describe as ‘Future Boogie’. This unique clash of time periods is what gives the track its undeniably catchy and one-of-a-kind result.

Another endearing quality of the song is its smooth production that dynamically allows it to move from section to section, from changing bass-line and vocal, without creating a noiseless mash. In fact, the extreme opposite is achieved where every element has its purpose and the futuristic funk lives on.

2015 is set to be a big year for the German duo, their presence to be seen at such major festivals as Coachella. Watch out for these anonymous producers as they begin to reveal themselves further into the year.
