Live Review: Tabrill 'Moving On' ft. Feki

15 January 2015 | 12:19 pm | Emma Jones

Brisbane newcomer Tabrill has released the first track off his forthcoming 'Revisions' EP - a collaboration with fellow Brisbanite Feki on 'Moving On'.

New kid on the block TABRILL has made a very useful friend in fellow Brisbanite FEKI. The pair have joined forces for TABRILL's latest track, Moving On, off his forthcoming Revisions EP.

Also known as Zach AlvosTABRILL's collaboration with Henry Feki is dynamic, forward thinking and compelling, and marks a big moment in both artists' young careers!

With influences like MR CARMACK, it makes sense that TABRILL's work is as vibrant and invigorating as it is. His fairly consistent SoundCloud presence, which includes originals as well as a few bootlegs and remixes (ODESZAKILTER) provides an aural map as to how his sound has matured to where it is now.

Moving On features vocal samples cut and looped, over a backdrop of heavy electronic beats. More samples and layers are introduced to the groove driven track. FEKI's influence is obvious, with the producer's one of a kind techniques really on show here. The pair make things a little more complex in the break, where they completely strip it back to a trickle, before launching right back into it to finish things with a bang.

This isn't the first time TABRILL and FEKI have worked together, but it may be the best of their collaborations. With each release, both artists take huge strides in honing their craft and it really does show. We recently announced FEKI as one of our Artists to Watch in 2015, and this track simply reiterates our predictions!

TABRILL's Revisions EP is out January 28th, with Moving On up for free download via his Facebook!
