Live Review: Seekae 'The Stars Below' (Lucianblomkamp Remix)

Up and coming ambient beat-maker LUCIANBLOMKAMP is the latest to step up to the plate at remixing a track off SEEKAE's 2014 release The Worry. The track is brooding / emotive and the rework is a complete overhaul, blending the best of the original with the best of Lucian's own signature style.

Unsuspecting, eerie and easily on par with the original, LUCIANBLOMKAMP has turned SEEKAE inside out into a creaking, crackly, glitched out soundscape.

Starting off slow with ALEX CAMERON's vocals echoing over a gentle piano melody, things quickly change direction with sinister creaks and heavy experimental sounds. Interjected with fast paced jabs of piercing electronic sounds, the track continues to dart into different directions as you try to follow just what is happening.

Lucian continues playing with experimental and industrial sounds as he keeps the original vocals in tact. The track falls once more before building up and eagerly picks up pace. Each part sees impeccable layering as more and more is added to the mix. The track is then completely slowed down and distorted towards the end as it continues to trudge along, complete with weighted beats and atmospheric sounds echoing in and out.

LUCIANBLOMKAMP has scored a spot on the recently sold out SECRET GARDEN FESTIVAL in Sydney, not long after playing the PARADISE and THE HILLS ARE ALIVE festivals last year. This remix definitely shows that although 2014 was a successful year for the producer, there is still a lot to come from him!
