Live Review: Oh Wonder 'The Rain'

Just days after announcing OH WONDER as one of our 'Artists To Watch In 2015', the London duo have dropped their latest track 'The Rain', and it's without a doubt making us just that much more confident in our selection.

Previously called Wonder Wonder, the duo burst onto the scene only months ago with their track 'Body Gold'. Since then, they've changed their name to OH WONDER, and have released a number of captivating tracks that have received a whole lot of love, and for good reason!

Their latest release 'The Rain' has a down-tempo feel, and like their other tracks, features both the male and female vocals of the two who make up OH WONDER. The vocals complement each other ridiculously well, and there is an somewhat-scary sincerity and honesty to their voices, an impressive and extremely rare trait. The song hears the two tell a story, while taking you into a hypnotic state of trance. Starting off quite slow, the track slowly builds up and will only have you wanting more by the end.

The duo have shown a versatility amongst their tracks, where some are more beat-heavy and electronically influenced than others, but it seems that the two nail what ever sound they wish to take.

If you're one of those people who hate that waiting period between track releases, OH WONDER has got your back. The duo has promised to release a new track at the beginning of each month in the lead up to the release of their debut album. So far they have lived up to their promise, making 'The Rain' the fifth installment in the sequence of releases.

Be sure to keep your eyes and ears on OH WONDER's SoundCloud over the coming months for a bunch of new material. My prediction is, you won't be disappointed.
