Once described as the love child of Flume and Chet Faker, Adelaide Trio, Flamingo are currently making big waves in the electronica pond.

Once described as the love child of Flume and Chet Faker, Adelaide Trio, Flamingo are currently making big waves in the electronica pond. With a National headlining tour in motion this February and March and with the upcoming release of a second EP, the boys are showing Australia exactly why Flamingo are a force to be reckoned with in 2015.

‘Lost on you’ the second installment of their Drip Away EP is the most recent track released by this electronic though self-described ‘music that doesn’t satisfy any one genre’ trio. Like the first sentence of this article describes, Flamingo very well could be the love child of two great artists Flume and Chet Faker, however, like any child there are always characteristics that neither parents possess and Flamingo display this uniqueness throughout the track.

A cushiony wave of electronica molds itself effortlessly around the smooth, airy vocals, slowly building in volume while also showering listeners in various synth sequences that pull the melody of the song together. Not every song can stir audiences at its build up, at a moment when every element of the track molds together to create a perfect blend of beat and vocals, but this mix manages to execute it brilliantly.
