In 2014, How To Dress Well has gone from strength to strength. He's released what is arguably his best record, "What Is This Heart?", a gut-wrenchingly personal collection of stripped back songs that see the artist moving further away from the alternative r'n'b niche he's been categorised in.

It was an enormous milestone for the artist, real name Tom Krell, who's been busying this year playing packed out venues after venues in support of his successful album. But as fans exhaust their way through his quite small, yet impressive back catalogue, there grows a deep desire for new material.

Thankfully Tom's label LuckyMe have given How To Dress Well fans something to be thankful for this christmas, with the label dropping Total Loss off cut 'Tomb for Anatole' as a free download as apart of their advent calendar track giveaway deal.

Fitting in with the themes present on HTDW’s seminal 2012 full length Total Loss, Tomb of Anatole is definitely a sombre affair. A dark chilling lullaby, the song begins with ghostly whistles that steadily builds with the introduction of solemn synths and twanging guitar chords. But as always, Tom’s vocals are what differentiates his music from that of his James Blake-esque contemporaries. Amplified by reverb and loops, they hum across the instrumental components, delivering a emotional brevity that cuts right into the heart.

Tomb of Antone is a stunning track that doesn’t deserve to be on the cutting floor - it’s a monumentally stirring song that demands repeat listens in states of solitude and reflection.
