Live Review: Capetown 'The Night' (Young Franco Remix)

15 December 2014 | 9:00 am | Lauren Payne

Brisbane duo Capetown have had their debut single 'The Night' remixed by Young Franco.

Brisbane production duo CAPETOWN released their debut single 'The Night' about a month ago and it already looks like the track is going to be heard all over the country over summer.

The track features the vocals of PHEBE STARR and has infectious synths that make you want to jump out of your chair and get dancing as quickly as humanly possible.

The original mix of 'The Night' seems to have every element working together to produce something wonderful. STARR's vocals sit a top a series of vibrant synths and light marimbas that create a very comfortable melody that flows smoothly out of your speakers. 'The Night' is a very comfortable track; one that you would find yourself unconsciously swaying too, but YOUNG FRANCO's remix brings something more energised to the table.

YOUNG FRANCO is known for his groovy melodies and funky uses of samples and synths and on his remix of 'The Night', his talent couldn't be more obvious. Everything we love about the young producer has been added into his remix. The infectious melody is composed of house synths and a light electronic beat that when fused together, produce a groove that we have come to know all too well.

There is a familiar presence in YOUNG FRANCO's remix of 'The Night' and no matter how many times you listen to it, you'll never find the words that perfectly describe how happy the track makes you.
