Cats @ Rocket Bar ft. Apes, Rat Ta'Mango + More

2 December 2014 | 5:59 pm | Clare Mingorance

Cats @ Rocket Bar will be throwing another awesome party this Friday night, with Apes, Rat Ta'Mango and resident DJs.

Adelaide's beloved Rocket Bar has well and truly proven their ability to throw mad parties, and their live music line-ups are never ones to disappoint. Known for bringing a diverse crowd of music lovers to the one place, this Friday night at Cats will be no exception. Taking to the stage this week is Melbourne's APES, and local act RAT TA'MANGO, as well as all your favourite resident DJs. Looks like you'll be kicking the weekend off in style, Adelaide.

Ballarat boys APES, led by vocalist Ben Dowd, together with James Toohey, Sam Reale and Rowan M.T, are well and truly on the way to solidifying their place as one of Australia's favourite garage/rock bands. Aside from supporting the likes of FIDLARSpiderbait and Band Of Skulls, the boys have also scored spots at Big Day Out and Groovin' the Moo. Tracks such as 'Helluva Time' and 'Seven' gained attention and a whole lot of air time from Triple J, as well as receiving mega praise from BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe, describing the band as 'one's to watch'. With it catchy melody, their more recent track 'Pull the Trigger' is undeniably some of the bands best work yet.

Adelaide trio RAT TA'MANGO are set to support on the night. With Daniel on drums, Wilson on Bass and Paris in charge of guitar/vocals, the trio describe their music as 'delta funk laced with hallucinogenics'. If this is any indication of what their performance will be like on Friday night, then I reckon it's going to be a good one. If you want to get a taste prior to Friday's show, make sure you head over to Triple J Unearthed to suss what the trio has to offer.
