Live Review: Budakid 'Saint Yellow'

3 November 2014 | 12:00 am | Lauren Payne

Budakid has released the first single from his upcoming EP Blue Robin.

Dutch producer BUDAKID has released the first single from his upcoming EP Blue Robin and it's called 'Saint Yellow'. Kevin Huizing grew up in a musical family but this being the age of technology and dance revolution, of course he turned his head towards electronica.

After discovering he wanted to become a producer at the age of 15, he navigated his way through the dance scene in the Netherlands and has now got himself a grand list of work.

Gallivanting his way throughout Europe, BUDAKID has already got his live show down pat and so now he's ready to release his own EP. Blue Robin features three of the producer's best tracks and one has become available to stream for us today. Other than the titles both featuring primary colours, we cannot say whether 'Saint Yellow' posses the overall atmosphere of Blue Robin, however we do know that the track is great and isn't that enough?

'Saint Yellow' has a variety of synths creating it's smooth melody. A disco-influenced beat bounces its way through the melody with a solid beat becoming the spine that keeps everything place. Warped synths bubble in and out of the track creating a very innovative sound that we haven't heard on many other producers tracks before. There's something about 'Saint Yellow' that makes it feel fun and also a very intricate track. It has its serious side, with the unique structure, and it has its fun side by the use of eccentric synths.

BUDAKID will be releasing Blue Robin through Jalapeño Records on November 24 and will no doubt have a lot of other great tracks being released afterwards.
