Giraffage 'No Reason' EP

Granted that we've probably featured too many Giraffage tunes on the Purple Sneakers site (is that possible??), it is only fair for us to give you updates on his new EP 'No Reason'.

Things have been looking well in almost every single way for Charlie Yin, who dishes out some serious tunes from stage name, Giraffage. After graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in Political Economics with an impressive overall GPA of 3.9, he decided to plant his roots in music after messing about with Ableton Live in his college dorm room.

His collaboration EP, 'Even Though', with XXYYXX made some major shift changes at the top of the Electronica Pyramid. While the sparkle and glitz of that collaboration has yet to disappear, he releases the five-track EP 'No Reason' based around the idea of indelible slow jams. The undoubted star of that album has disclosed itself to be 'Tell Me'; incorporating ambient and swanky vocal samples with his usual carefree and laid-back stance, that are measured to the centimetres and millimetres.

The unhurried candy-coloured synth and the rhythmically-inserted sporadic drum beats creates a pure and tranquil track that further rubs us in the right way.

In addition to his brainiac appeal, this guy apparently suffers from no such tour fatigue. In 2012, he went on a 30-date European tour hand-in-hand with then 17-year old producer, XXYYXX, and will be main support for Porter Robinson over 40 dates in Northern America, starting from the 28th of July, as he aims nearer to target. He plays four dates in Australia in November inbetween two festival appearances at OutsideIn Festival and Strawberry Fields Festival.
