Live Review: Jimmy Edgar 'Who's Watchin' (Official Video)

21 October 2014 | 12:00 am | Clare Mingorance

A futuristic, feline feel on Jimmy Edgar's new 'Who's Watchin' music clip.

If there's one thing to be learned from JIMMY EDGAR’s new video for recent track 'Who's Watchin', it’s that he has a distinct futuristic fascination with felines. The Detroit-based artist recently released his new EP earlier this month on his own label, Ultramajic.

The four-track EP, titled Saline, follows the release of previous EPs, Hot Inside and Mercurio, making it the third instalment. Aside from featuring vocals from himself, the EP also features fellow electronic artist, DJ RASHAD, who EDGAR had been working earlier in the year.

It's no secret that artwork and design are both important aspects of EDGAR's label, which is clearly represented in this new, and some-what hypnotising film clip. The video, which was directed by Brandon Tay, begins with an image of a cat, accompanied by colourful visuals and futuristic effects, a signature trait of Ultramajic.

Throughout the clip, there is a constant display of cat images of all different colours, shapes and sizes, and the zoom tool is used constantly to ensure all angles are captured, allowing for maximum effect. Despite the extreme feline-focus, this video is quite fitting to this funky, electronic track, which features the vocals of Edgar himself.

Highly recommended for all you cat-lovers. Check it out for yourself.
