St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2015 Line-Up Announced!
Two Melbourne dudes, Jerome Borazio and Danny Rogers, wanted to boost their Summer of 2004 by seeing more live bands in the most unique of settings. So what became of it? A weekly Sunday afternoon of acts serenading the folk of the late St. Jerome’s bar in Melbourne’s Caledonian Lane.
After some small, not overly well known bands like The Presets and Architecture In Helsinki helped fill the roster of the Sunday St Jerome’s Summer Series, the boys extended their welcome to a monthly Saturday night party called, Brains. Here is where The Avalanches completely ruled the stage during their residency, to the point where Borazio and Rogers persuaded them to close off Caledonian Lane, remove everything in its path and throw a proper party. The outcome? The annual St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival.
Watching the festival’s evolvement has been a real treat, as the first few years saw the festival expand to the East Coast before stretching out nation-wide, and eventually gallivanting overseas, as the event now takes place in Auckland, Detroit and Singapore.
Hunters of everything innovative, left-of-centre, inspirational and leading, they’ve pulled off the title as one of our most celebrated boutique festivals. So on that note, let’s see if our Rumour Mill was in any way correct and check out who they’ll be championing with the Laneway Festival 2015 line-up!
