Live Review: Jawz 'After Dark'

19 October 2014 | 12:00 am | Lauren Payne

Jawz has released a brand new track 'After Dark' through a brand new label.

As always, with a brand new label comes a brand new track from one of it's star signings. Sydney producer JAWZ has released his latest creation 'After Dark' through new American label, Hebinomichi Collective.

The new label (the brainchild of Denver-based producer StéLouse and Detroit's ahh-ooh) have chosen to drop this stellar track as it's second release.

The 21-year-old producer has definitely proved he's got something amazing to offer our ears, but 'After Dark' seems to be stepping things up a notch. The single feels extremely light and is so easy to listen to that you could probably stand to have it on repeat all day.

The vocals samples are just as light as the melody, they echo throughout the track with no recognisable words at all and sort of blend into the synths accompanying them. Soft horns play throughout 'After dark' and give things a bit of a pulsing sensation. The horns carry the track and become a sort of driving force that the single probably wouldn't have without it.

'After Dark' will be featured on Hebinomichi Compilation Vol. 1, the label's first compilation mix tape. The label will be releasing the collection of tracks on November 5 so be ready to hear some great new acts when it's released.
