Live Review: Baauer 'One Touch' (VIP) ft. AlunaGeorge

On the topic of West Philadelphia born (and possibly raised) producers and (lesbi-honest) ladies I would turn for, BAAUER has just thrown a brand spankin' new banger of a single into our aural conscious with a little help from London duo ALUNAGEORGE.

The new single One Touch premiered on Radio 1 BBC with Annie Mac over the weekend after the American producer asked his Facebook followers to pick his next release from a list of tracks, big thanks should go to said followers for picking this one.

One Touch is thankfully not the Harlem Shake, yet in the best way possible it is still not too big of a departure from BAAUER's heavy hip hop sensibilities. ALUNAGEORGE is the sweet sweet Ying to BAAUER's Yang. The mystic vocals on One Touch provide a nice balance to the cluster shag of bass, synth-gasms and over the top finger clicking.

There is also something oddly uplifting about Aluna Francis (of ALUNAGEORGE) telling you to "give me something to work with" particularly on the morning after a big weekend, it's added some much needed pep to my step and will no doubt be the soundtrack to the next soirée with the D-floor.

Now what will happen with the 47 tracks that BAAUER did not just release? Perhaps there will be an album coming in the not too distant future or perhaps there will be a new single to look forward to every Monday morning for the next 47 weeks or maybe a repeat appearance by BAAUER on the 2015 Future Music Festival? Who knows but if One Touch is anything to go by we can only assume that there is something cool making it's way down the pipes. We'll keep you posted.
