Dugong Jr Announces National Tour

2 October 2014 | 11:34 pm | Darren Ng

Melbourne wildling Dugong Jr announces five dates for his national tour before his EP gets released.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that Dugong Jr is heavily influenced by the Japanese movement, he runs his twitter account through the handle @movingcastle, we presume a devoted reference to Hayao Miyazaki's 2004 fantasy animation Howl's Moving Castle.

He's polished off an assortment of remixes for artists like Gudu, Kilter and Miami Horror. While they are different in genre and style, Dugong Jr beautifies each track with an oriental sound in mind before plastering it in a multitude of extreme kawaii techniques.

Dugong Jr's newest offering awakens the hidden parts of your soul with 3.5 minutes of accelerating awakening filled with airy chimes and rhythms of the subaquatic, matched to little adorable heart-shaped vocals that come off as squeals of dainty little dugong babies.

With his debut EP set to be released in the extreme near future, there is at least something to anticipate for! While waiting for his little Dugong baby to be delivered, he plays five animating shows across the country, so fret not little sea critters!
