Live Review: Premiere: Young Franco 'Close 2 U' (Airwolf Remix)

Today, Airwolf premieres his remix of Young Franco's 'Close 2 U'. While we enjoy both artists equally much on Purple Sneakers, there is nothing better than a good ol' Australian collaboration between these two.

Young Franco's title single of his 'Close 2 U' EP hits it off as a bouncy track with authentic piano parts, while the addition of JOY together with the delightful marimba composition brings about a pleasant vibe that is heard throughout.

While you may think the original track of 'Close 2 U' is a cracker as it is, Airwolf gives Young Franco's top hit a scintillating rejuvenation. Even though he isn't the first to do so (with the track also being remixed by Luke Million, Capetown and Benson), his remix makes its mark by powdering it in a coat of diamond dust.

Carrying a gassed-up bass line, a peppered-up drum beat and a sleek tropical synth part in the verse, it doesn't get much better. The chorus doesn't uproot JOY's stunning vocals and with a sinister drop popped in regularly, there is an addictive component with each listen.

Think you can't get enough of Airwolf? He has three more dates in Bendigo, Melbourne and Werribee before his national tour comes to a close.
