Live Review: Redinho 'Get You Off My Mind' ft. Brendan Reilly

27 September 2014 | 12:00 am | Lauren Payne

Redinho has created the perfect poolside companion by mixing old school funk and modern dance.

Summer is coming around very quickly and what better way to get ready for those warm night and bright days than by listening to REDINHO's new track 'Get You Off My Mind'.

The work features the vocals of singer Brendan Reilly and when they're mixed with vibrant synths, you've got yourself the perfect poolside companion.

REDINHO has a very subtle way of fusing together old school funk and modern dance. When listening to 'Get You Off My Mind', you can picture PRINCE prancing across your television screen in the middle of an energetic beach party. It's a blend of genres that shouldn't work, but the London-based producer has found a way to connect them beautifully.

Brendan Reilly's vocals carry a very soulful element, bringing some R'n'B flavour to REDINHO's track. When you've got a series of samples and synths in front of you and you just start playing, without over thinking it, you can produce something amazing without even trying. 'Get You Off My Mind' sounds like it was created in one of those rare moments; it sounds like REDINHO found a wonderful vocalist, eclectic dance synths and suddenly just added them onto an infectious riff and somehow it worked.

'Get You Off My mind' is a simple track but it's still as fun and enjoyable as we'd hoped. The piece is featured on REDINHO's self-titled debut album out now through Numbers.
